Cedar Food Group ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use cedarfoodgroup.com.au, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

2. What we collect

We only collect what we need to sell and deliver your order.

• Order and contact details: your name, delivery address, billing address, email address and phone number.
• Order history: what you bought, when, and any delivery notes you gave us.
• Account details: if you create an account, your login details and saved addresses.
• Payment details: we do not see or store your full card number. Payments are handled by Shopify Payments and other payment providers. We only receive a confirmation and the last few digits of the card.
• Wholesale enquiries: your business name, contact person and the details you type into our wholesale form.
• Website usage: your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit and how you arrived at our site. This comes from cookies and similar technology. See section 5 below.

You do not have to give us your personal information, but if you do not, we may not be able to take or deliver your order.

3. Why we collect it

• To take, pack and deliver your order.
• To take payment and give refunds where they are due.
• To contact you about your order, including delivery updates and any problem with stock.
• To answer your questions and handle complaints.
• To run and improve our website and fix faults.
• To send you marketing emails or SMS, but only if you have opted in. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message, or by emailing us. We follow the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
• To meet our legal and tax obligations, including food safety record keeping.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the businesses and people who help us run the store:

• Shopify Inc. hosts our online store and processes orders on our behalf.
• Payment providers, to process your payment and check for fraud.
• Delivery drivers and couriers, so they can bring your order to you. They get your name, address and phone number only.
• Email and marketing tools, to send order confirmations and any marketing you have opted in to.
• Analytics providers, to tell us how the site is used.
• Professional advisers, insurers and regulators, where we are required or permitted by law.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States, Canada and the European Union. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is handled in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

5. Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Some are needed for the site to work, such as keeping items in your cart. Others help us understand how the site is used. You can turn off non-essential cookies in your browser settings at any time. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be turned off, as the site will not work without them.

6. How we keep it safe

Our site runs over HTTPS, so information you send us is encrypted in transit. Access to order data is limited to staff who need it. Our store platform and payment providers maintain their own security controls, including PCI DSS compliance for card data.

No system is completely secure. In the unlikely event that your information is affected, we will let you know promptly and take the steps the law requires of us.

7. How long we keep it

We keep order and tax records for at least seven years, because Australian tax law requires it. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Other information is kept only while we still need it, then deleted or de-identified.

8. Access, correction and deletion

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you;
• give you a copy of it;
• correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
• delete it, where we are not required to keep it by law.

9. Questions about your privacy

If you have any question or concern about how we have handled your personal information, please email us at info@cedarfoodgroup.com.au. We will look into it and reply within 30 days.

10. Children

Our store is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 15. If you believe a child has given us their details, please contact us and we will delete them.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Please check back before placing an order.
